The II Professional Meeting was held on October 21st and gathered a group of Brazilians to talk about the future of the community network in Oslo.
Last 21st of October, BNCC, with the support of the Brazilian Embassy in Oslo and Culturas, organized the second meeting of Brazilian professionals in Norway. More than 50 professionals attended the event, demonstrating the strength of the Brazilian workforce gradually arriving to Norway.
This strength can be multiplied through the formation of an established community with common goals. BNCC has made itself available to collaborate in the structuring of this community since last year, inviting all Brazilian professionals to become members. We would like to thank participants for their presence and also invite those who did not have the chance to meet us to become a part of this group.
All interested Brazilian professionals are invited to become members of BNCC. In doing so, they will have access to the benefits of being a member of the network as whole, but also, will automatically be included in this community that works towards strengthening this network and bringing benefits to its Brazilian members more specifically.
The main goal of the second meeting was presenting the project to strength the business network among Brazilian professionals and companies in Norway, which started last year. In the occasion, the Ambassador of Brazil, HE Flavio Helmond Macieira welcomed the group while Culturas and Brazilian-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce (BNCC) held a brief presentation.
Right after, members of the community introduced themselves and talked about their experience with BNCC.
The event was then followed by a happy hour session with tacos and drinks.
In October, Culturas has launched new social media channels: the Instagram account, this blog and the YouTube channel. The main goal is to get connected and be more connected to people interested in cross cultural subjects with international business as a background.
On Instagram (follow us!), you will find weekly pictures from Norway's sightseeing or suggestions of places to visit #culturasonthego, as well as teasers from our news, events and projects.
If you are searching for news and extra content about intercultural topics, the place to look at is this blog ;) Here you can read about Culturas' work, events and projects and articles about cross cultural subjects written by our columnists.
On our brand new YouTube channel (sign up here!), there are two different approaches: the first one is videos about Culturas' events and the second is our Vlog. The first series of the Vlog is called Dicas para adaptacão na Noruega (How to adapt in Norway, in Portuguese) which is a free and extra content focused on foreigners who have just moved to Norway. We have already gave informal tips about recycling and how to make Brazilian tapioca with local products in Oslo.
On top of that, you can also find us on Facebook (here!) or send us an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Let's keep in touch!
Desde o início de Outubro, a Culturas lancou várias novidades: a conta no Instagram, o blog e a estreia do canal do YouTube.
Vamos manter o contato!
Our next event is the II Brazilian Professional Meeting on October 21st. Together with the BNCC and Embassy of Brazil, Culturas welcomes all Brazilian professionals based in Norway for a happy hour at the Cultural Space of Brazilian Embassy (Sigurd Syrs gate 2, Oslo) from 16:00 to 18:00.
Our goal is to strength the business network among Brazilian professionals and companies in Norway. The event will be held in Portuguese, therefore, it is an interesting opportunity for Norwegians who are Portuguese speakers/students to join.
In the occasion, the Ambassador of Brazil, HE Flavio Helmond Macieira will start the evening program. Right after, Culturas and BNCC will hold a brief presentation and members of the community will introduce themselves. A happy hour session with tacos and drinks will follow.
Please keep in mind that there are limited places available: members of BNCC and those who first register will have priority. Register before October 16th, by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. We are looking forward to meeting you all there!
Together with Brazilian-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce (BNCC) and Oslo Chamber of Commerce (OCC), Culturas will gather Brazilian students from the program "Science Without Boarders 2015" for a chat on October 5th to talk about culture differences and adaptation.
If you are also a newcomer student in Norway, you are welcome to participate on this event. (This event will be held in Portuguese). The meeting will be held from 15:30 to 17:00 at Henrik Ibsen gate, 100. Please confirm your attendance by e-mail to email@example.com
As we announced earlier, Culturas is bringing new projects to the table. We have just launched our brand new Youtube channel which will compile cross cultural subjects. The first series of the vlog is focused on tips and curiosities for who has just moved to Norway. Check it out!
